Hey there,
After we launched Photo Tour: North America, I kept getting the same question: Are you going to make Photo Tour: Europe?
And for a while, I thought the answer was yes. It made sense. New continent, new landmarks, bigger map.
But the more I sat with it, the more it felt like the wrong direction. Because what I actually wanted wasn’t more locations. It was more discovery.
Not just new cards, but new reasons to explore. New mechanics that would make players stop, think, and look at the world of Photo Tour in a different way.
So instead of moving the game somewhere new, we decided to stay in North America. And we asked ourselves: What else could this game be? What else could photography mean — if we didn’t change the setting, just the way you move through it?
That question led to two new expansions. They’ve been in development for the past year. And today, I finally get to share them with you.
If you’re even a little curious, I’d love for you to hit “Notify me on launch” — it’s a small click, but it helps a lot. And it means you’ll be there the moment we go live.
This new campaign includes a full reprint of the core game (with all the original Kickstarter perks) plus both expansions, each offering a different kind of challenge and a new way to explore the world of Photo Tour.
Here’s what’s new:
Photo Tour: Expeditions

Photo Tour: Expeditions features new Expedition tiles — special routes where you travel by foot and take photos in a completely new way.
To access an expedition, you’ll first need to collect hiking gear — new tokens placed on the main board. Once you’ve gathered the right gear, you can enter one of these remote expedition sites, each with a unique challenge and scoring opportunity.
Inside, the pace slows down. You’ll move one space per turn, drawing from a dedicated Trail Photo deck, trying to assemble a specific photo set that matches the expedition’s goal. These cards feature genre tags like wildlife, landscape, night, and portrait, and some offer valuable bonuses if used well.
The more prepared you are — with the right Photo Equipment tokens stored in your journal — the more cards you’ll draw each turn. That means more chances to find the perfect trail shots and complete your expedition before time runs out.
What I personally love is that this expansion adds a whole new way to win. You can go all-in on expeditions — there are five randomized ones per game — or you can find a careful balance. And if you’d rather skip them entirely and stick to the main path? That works too. We tested it. Every approach can lead to victory. It’s just a question of how you want to play.
Photo Tour: Alaska & Yukon

Then there’s Photo Tour: Alaska & Yukon — which is probably the most personal of the two.
This expansion adds a side board — a map of those two wild regions, where movement is more challenging due to empty locations that offer no photo opportunities. But the potential rewards here are worth the extra effort.
You can still take regular photos here — and many of these come with powerful new bonus icons that improve your engine and create stronger card combos. But the real highlight is the Wild Photo system.
This is something I’ve wanted to do for a while. In special wild locations, you’ll roll a set of custom dice to gather symbols. You’ll use those to acquire transparent Wild Photo cards — separate foregrounds, backgrounds, and animals — and layer them to create your own unique photo.
That composite shot goes into your journal like any other. But the experience of building it — of assembling something no single card could capture — makes it feel personal, and deeply satisfying.
I’ve loved this kind of mechanic ever since I played Canvas. Bringing it into Photo Tour felt like a natural next step — and one of the most creatively rewarding parts of this project.
Why This Campaign Matters (and How You Can Help)
I’ll be honest — I’m excited. But I’m nervous too.
Because when you run a publishing company this small, every campaign matters. We’ve already put in the effort. The budget. The time. And if it doesn’t go well, it’s not just disappointing — it can shake everything.
But I believe in what we’ve built. These two expansions feel like a real evolution of Photo Tour, and I think they’ve earned their place next to the base game.
If the idea speaks to you, I hope you’ll follow the campaign:
As a thank-you for being part of this list — and for believing in what we’re building — I’ve put together a small gift just for you. Two Kickstarter-exclusive promo cards — one for each expansion.
To receive them, you just need to do two quick things:
- Click the link in this email (so we can tag your address)
- Hit “Notify me on launch” on the Kickstarter page
I don’t know exactly what the promos will be yet — but I promise they’ll be as beautiful and thoughtful as the rest of the experience.

And yes — this campaign also includes a full reprint of Photo Tour: North America, for anyone who missed the original launch. We’re building this for early backers, returning fans, and new players just discovering the game. And I’d love for you to be part of it.
Thanks for reading — and for coming this far with me. It really means a lot.
Take care,
— Eugene

Meet Moss.
They’re new to game night. Chill as a beanbag. Showed up with a hoodie, a drink, and absolutely no idea what “deckbuilding with dice auctions” means. But they said “sure, I’ll play” — and that’s how the chaos begins.
